LIME KILN POINT STATE PARK

If you're after a few days of island paced life then Lime Kiln State Park should be on your list. It is part of San Juan County in Friday Harbor. When the time is right you can do a little shore side whale watching. May- Sept is the best time for whale viewing. The Orcas, Gray, Humpback, and Porpoises are some of the favorites for watching from spring to fall yearly. This is one of the best whale watching spots due to its location on the west end of the San Juan Islands, are the cliffs and the lighthouse. They are all part of the 40 acres day use park. This park is full of sea life, beach exploring, bird watching, sea side trails, and wild life viewing all over the 200 acres of surrounding wooded area.

This park has so much to do for everyone, with self guided family friendly trails for small hikes. Ranging in length from .2 miles to 1.6 miles and include some ADA access.

The lighthouse tours are definitely a must do for all ages, whale watching boats and guided kayak tours are just a couple of the other highlights of the park and surrounding areas.
